Pick a method or a recipe and the timer leads, phase by phase. Each phase rings and buzzes, the mug fills as you pour, and the countdown lives on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
Every coffee you drink, every shot you pull, every bag on your shelf. Cupping uses real SCA and CVA score sheets, and espresso logs come back with the next tweak to try.

How it's built
Ritus is fully local: no accounts, no network, no CloudKit. SwiftData holds every log behind a versioned schema, and all the coffee math lives in small pure engines (ratio, extraction, freshness, caffeine decay, cupping score, espresso analysis) with unit tests around them.
The Lab is on-device RAG. A hybrid search mixes keyword matching with NLEmbedding similarity over the app's own glossary, recipes, and articles, then Apple's Foundation Models streams the answer with the sources attached. Devices without Apple Intelligence get an honest keyword search instead of a fake chat bubble.
The brew timer runs as a Live Activity that only updates when the phase changes; the system renders the countdown itself. The UI leans skeuomorphic, with around 50 custom controls like rotary knobs, levers, and page turns. Every sound is synthesized by a small Python script, and the app icon is drawn in CoreGraphics.
